Carpets, upholstery and mattresses provide ideal breeding grounds for dust mites. Although harmless in themselves, their droppings can cause allergic reactions, especially in young children and sufferers of asthma and eczema.
Dust mites feed mainly on dead skin cells and bacteria. Each of us sheds up to 10,000 million scales of dead skin tissue each day. Much of this ends up in our mattresses. This, mixed with sweat (we produce up to four pints a night) and the bacteria that thrive in it, makes your mattress a welcoming home for dust mites.
The VK136 has been specifically designed with allergy sufferers in mind. It has incredible suction power, cleaning effectively to a depth of seven inches. It also incorporates a hygienic micro filter, certified as a class 11 HEPA filter. This prevents more than 99.97% of particles larger than 0.0003mm from escaping from the machine, including viruses and smoke, as well as mite excrement. So the air filtered through the machine is considerably cleaner than the existing air in the room.
